Day Four - Kindergarten

Molly B. had a boyfriend. It was Janenthian. But Molly S. told MB to break up with him - so she did. Now Allie is not friends with MS. too funny.

Molly B is now friends with Molly S. I am so proud of my daughter for making new friends.

Matthew is coping his sister. He ate a swiss roll and is now trying to open up an carprisun.

2nd Day of kindergarten

Molly is now Molly S.

Molly doesn't want Allie to have any other friends. Allie is now friends with Molly B. Molly S. does not like Allie having other friends, especially since Molly B. didn't go to pre-school. Oh joy - the fun begins.
Molly is still friends with Marissa, she bumped heads with Shania, whom tickled her and she didn't like it.

Bus - she did not ride the bus today - she has to ride it tomorrow though. We talked about how the bus could be a little adventure every day, and that it's a new bus. I don't mind taking her to school and dropping her off, but it's seems like an ordeal to the office staff. Not sure what I'm supposed to do.

Janathian was sent to the principles office, again. "He did not learn everything in pre-school"

Molly played with Grace and Shania.

No papers sent home today from the teacher. I have written a note to her - saying that I'm available to help out. We'll see how she responds.

"Molly, did you eat your hot dog?" "yes, not all of it though, the boys were talking naughty funny things" "What kind of things?" "Spongebob funny things!"

The night before Kindergarten

OK, let's just start by saying how fast the past 5 1/2 years have gone by. I can't believe that Molly will be starting kindergarten tomorrow. I think now I finally feel like an adult - I'm actually in charge of a school age child. It's hard for me to think about. This week has been a challenge - Charlie is gone to training school - he will miss the first day of school. I have to deal with this by myself - I'm feeling like a single parent this week - more than usual. Molly has been missing her father, she's constantly asking when he will be home - even though today it was a little easier because we spent he afternoon with Josh. Then she wanted him to come home with us and spend some time here.
Back to kindergarten:
My concerns/ annoyances so far:
  • no letter from Mrs. Gauld telling us what to expect the first day
  • no communication on what time to get on the bus, the bus number, what time to be to school, what to bring for snack or not bring, if breakfast is provided.
  • Should I drop her off myself
  • Should I volunteer my help
  • I feel like I should have been sent something to put me in the loop

I did call the school today and talked with the secretary - some of my questions were answered:

  1. The bus driver is Darlene (no bus # given)
  2. Be waiting outside at 7:35
  3. Or drop off between 7:40 and & 8:00
  4. Kids have a morning recess, school starts at 8
  5. More than welcome to drop Molly off myself

Molly has been going back and forth about taking the bus or me taking her. I would love to take her - but I don't know how she will do with me leaving her there. She did go to preschool last year - and had a hard time with me leaving. So she should be used to it - I hope.

I see her being upset that I have to leave. I see her being very shy. The morning is going to be rough - she has to shower, eat breakfast and get dressed before 7:30. I plan on waking her up around 6:00. Is this too early - I'm glad Charlie's not here. He is not a morning person.

She was in bed at 8:00 - read Barbie's first pony, Mater and the Ghost Light and Mickey's fun day. She stayed in her bed - it was 8:10 when I turned off the light. She is sleeping - let's hope she gets enough and won't be cranky in the morning.
